How to Install SIP Firmware on Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G
The Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G is a full-featured IP-based conference station that allows you to place and receive calls, put calls on hold, transfer calls, make conference calls, and access features such as mute, speed dial, call forward, and more. It supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) and third-party lapel microphone kit for enhanced audio quality and coverage.
However, the Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G does not have a native SIP firmware. It only supports SCCP protocol, which requires a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) server to function. If you want to use the conference station with a SIP-based VoIP system, you will need to install a SIP firmware on it.
In this article, we will show you how to install SIP firmware on Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G using a TFTP server and a web browser. Note that this process is not officially supported by Cisco and may void your warranty. Proceed at your own risk.
